The math is easy: total pounds divided by your weekly pace. The hard part is picking a pace you can actually hold, because that is what decides whether the timeline is real or fantasy.
At a steady pound a week, 30 pounds lands around 30 weeks, or roughly seven months. Push to a pound and a half a week and it shortens to about 20 weeks, but that faster pace asks for tighter tracking and it is easier to fall off. Two pounds a week is possible early on when you have more to lose, and it usually slows down as you get leaner whether you like it or not.
Here is the reframe I give people: a slower plan you finish beats a fast plan you quit in week six. Seven honest months of steady loss is a body you keep. Six frantic weeks that end in a rebound is a round trip.
One more thing. The scale does not move in a straight line. It stalls, jumps, and drifts on its own schedule because of water, food, and hormones. Judge progress on the multi-week trend, not any single morning. Build a little buffer into whatever date you land on.
The example above uses one starting weight. Put in yours and pick a pace to see your own milestone dates.
